Measles virus recombinant nucleoprotein (Me-rN) expressed in yeast
Purified from yeast lysates by ultracentrifugation in CsCl gradients under native (non-denaturing) conditions to >90% purity. Four different products available:
- 12MeN-BPp-Gly: from Pichia pastoris, in glycerol stock.
- 12MeN-BPp-L: from P. pastoris, lyophilized.
- 12MeN-BSc-Gly: from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, in glycerol stock.
- 12MeN-BSc-L: from S. cerevisiae, lyophilized.
Note: The same protein from different yeast genera is not identical in regard of post-translational modifications, and this may have impact on its specific applications. All protein from P. pastoris is thoroughly phosphorylated, whereas the majority of measles NP from S. cerevisiae is not modified. Usually, S. cerevisiae-derived Me-rN shows higher titers in ELISA with measles positive human sera, whereas P. pastoris-derived Me-rN may be preferable for some other applications.
